Practice directions
What is a practice direction?
Practice directions help you understand what to expect from the review process. They set out Tribunal processes and requirements for applicants, parties, representatives and other people involved in a review.
This includes information about:
- expectations of parties to a review, including applicants, representatives and respondents
- how parties should give information to the Tribunal
- how to apply for a review, and whether you can ask for an extension to the timeframe to apply
- how to ask to defer the implementation of a decision or ask for speedier processes
- how the Tribunal conducts proceedings including directions hearings, dispute resolution and hearings.

General principles for referrals to the Guidance and Appeals Panel
On 6 December 2024, President Justice Emilios Kyrou published a statement of reasons for his decision not to refer an application to the Guidance and Appeals Panel.
The decision sets out some general principles to help parties who are considering applying to refer a Tribunal decision to the Guidance and Appeals Panel because they believe there has been an error of law or fact:
