Most of the fees to apply for review of a decision will increase on 1 July 2025.
- The standard application fee (for decisions not specified elsewhere) will change to $1,148.
- The fee for review of a small business taxation decision will change to $616.
- The fee for review of certain taxation decisions where the amount of tax in dispute is less than $5,000 or where the Commissioner has refused a request for an extension of time to lodge an objection will change to $114.
- The fee for review of a reviewable migration decision (other than a protection decision) will increase to $3,580. A 50% reduction may be granted on financial hardship grounds.
- The fee for review of a reviewable protection decision will increase to $2,203. In general, this fee is payable only if the application is not successful.
- The fee for review by the Guidance and Appeals Panel will change to $1,148.
The fee in concessional circumstances, which is explained on our fees web page, will remain at $100.
The new fees will apply if an application fee is paid on or after 1 July 2025, even if the application was lodged before that date.
Fee changes occur annually in accordance with Rule 33 of the Administrative Review Tribunal Rules 2024 and Regulations 4.13A and 4.31BA of the Migration Regulations 1994. Annual increases reflect changes in the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Notice of the amounts for the annual fee increase have been published in the Government Notices Gazette.
